Laennec Prescription 1824

Rene Theophile Laennec Autograph Prescription Signed. [Paris], 3 January 1824.

Two octavo pages on one folded octavo leaf. Signed by two other doctors or pharmacists in addition to Laennec. On plain white laid paper (7.5 x 10 inches). On recto and verso.

For M. Attoud
Take a bath every other day + and add two spoons of salt
2nd every other day morning and night a large soap to which should be added one grain of calomel per grain of soap.
3rd use some Vichy water
4th if the baths are producing a good effect it would perhaps be useful to get the patient to bathe in the sea.

5th if the treatment indicated should be ineffective apply a large dressing to the tumor.
