Laennec Second Version Stethoscope, circa 1826

A second version Laennec stethoscope made of a turned finely grained, cedar wood, circa 1826. The cylindical stethoscpe has three parts fitting together by rounded wood pressure fitting and brass tube fitting and horn rings at the juncture of the three parts. It has an overall length of 12 inches and a diameter of 1.5 inches.
